Social Cyclist Community Guidelines
Social Cyclist is a service provided by Social Bicycles, Inc. ("SoBi").
These Community Guidelines ("Guidelines") are incorporated to the Social Cyclist Terms of Service (the "Terms").
Our goal with Social Cyclist is to provide people around the world with all the benefits of a Social Bicycle when they aren't riding one, and the power to work together to improve their shared bicycle infrastructure while also sharing information that will benefit other Social Cyclists.
1. What To Do
Be You: Choose a profile photo after you sign up and let the Social Cyclist community know your name. A good photo and your name helps your friends recognize you when sending or accepting friend requests.
Share: record your routes and share them with your friends, request bike racks where you want more parking for personal or shared bicycles, vote for and submit comments to other rack requests that you support, submit reports of value to other cyclists (e.g. potholes, blocked bike lanes, accidents, abandoned bikes, stolen bikes, etc.), add photos to your rides.
Find Friends: Social Cylist is better with your friends! Only friend people you know and wouldn't mind sharing your location with.
Ride Privately If You Want: Record rides privately if you so desire. Use the private option to record rides but still keep your routes secret (you'll still be able to find them later in your personal route history page).
Be Respectful of Other People: Keep the Social Cyclist community positive! Treat others as you would like to be treated. Not everyone will agree with what you think or believe. We ask that all users be polite and respectful in their interactions with other members.
2. What Not To Do
Note that overstepping the boundaries outlined below may result in a disabled account, or discontinued access to Social Cyclist, without warning. SoBi reserves the right to immediately terminate your account without further notice in the event that, in its judgment, you violate these Guidelines or the Terms of Service.
We may revise these Guidelines from time to time; the most current version will always be at socialcyclist.com/guidelines.
Self Destructive Behavior: Riding a bicycle is a fun and healthy activity to engage in whether alone or with friends. Don't ruin this by drinking excessively or endangering yourself in any way while recording a route or submitting a report during a ride.
Impersonation: You may not impersonate others through the Social Cyclist Services in a manner that does or is intended to mislead, confuse, or deceive others.
Pornography: The Social Cyclist community is diverse and may include people as young as 13 years of age. Don't post nudity or mature content of any kind.
Spam: You may not use Social Cyclist for the purpose of spamming anyone. Our definition of "spam" will evolve as the efforts and tactics of spammers change. When deciding if someone is spamming others we take into account:
- If your comments consist mainly of links.
- If a large number of users are blocking you.
- If a large number of spam complaints have been filed against you.
